vCard QR guide

Make contact details easy to save

A useful contact card is accurate and selective. Share the details people need, not every field available.

  1. Choose the public details

Enter the display name and only the professional details intended for public sharing.

  2. Add useful context

Expand the optional section only when job title, website or address improves the contact.

  3. Verify the imported card

Import the finished QR on more than one phone and check every saved field, including organization.

FAQ

vCard QR questions

What to check before printing a contact QR.

Is the contact saved automatically?

No. The contact data is encoded in the QR. The person scanning chooses whether to save it in their contacts application.

Do I need to complete every field?

No. Include only the fields you want to share publicly. Name is required; organization, phone, email, address, website and notes are optional.

What happens when my details change?

A static vCard cannot update itself. Correct the details and create a new file whenever public contact information changes.
